London Anthropology Day 2022
British Museum, London, UK

LONDON ANTHROPOLOGY DAY – June 3Oth 2022 at the British Museum
Thinking of doing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree? Not sure where to apply to? Then come along to London Anthropology Day at the British Museum on June 30th 2022 to hear about what different universities across the UK could offer you. I’ll be there representing University of Cambridge and will be leading a workshop called ‘Meet the Ancestors’, located in the Studio, British Museum.
The workshop description: Why do humans look the way we do, and how did early human species differ? In this session we will explore differences in skull shape between humans and our early ancestors; and how each of these differences relate to how we move, what we eat and life history.
This activity will be hands-on, and you will have the opportunity to examine casts of hominin skulls and learn about the major differences between each skull. We will discuss why we look the way we do and how differences in skull shape and dentition are related to what we eat and even our life history.
There will also be an opportunity to look at digital 3D models of hominins and explore fossil movement. I will also be discussing my own career trajectory – so feel free to come along and ask many questions 🙂
The day will run from 10.30am until 5.30pm, with the workshop from 2.30pm.
